Outdoor Play: An Integral Component of Wellness and Learning Homma outdoor school was an intriguing experience that highlights the importance of outdoor education. When observing a class in session, we noticed that children were provided with valuable learning opportunities to appreciate the land, engage in risky play, and foster meaningful connection with peers. During our observation, we noticed that outdoor learners were well regulated and ready to learn. Our observations remain consistent with a core principle identified in the Early Learning Framework: the environment is integral to well being and learning.
