Earth Sciences Building, Main Mall, Vancouver, BC, Canada
The warm sun is peaking through the trees. All is calm in the cool breeze.
While outside, we listened to the whistle of the wind howl through the leaves. I became increasingly aware of the hustle of the busy students as they wandered around campus and began to notice how the leaves crunched beneath their shoes. We listened to birds sing as we walked to my destination to observe and reflected how we often drown out the external sounds with music or conversation. I reflected on how meaningful it was to slow down and use my senses to listen to the world around me.
As we walking through this beautiful location, we wonder what stories live here? For our group, we have already made meaningful memories in this spot and have created friends that will last a lifetime. As per the Early Learning Framework (ELF, 2016) we have experinced first hand how relationships are the context for well-being and learning. This place have given us a sense of connectedness with our group members and a sense of place (FPPL, 2021).
